Mineralogy & Crystallography Piemontite
A combination of three of these unit cells forms a hexagonal prism. Dragon Stone is a combination of green epidote and red piemontite, often categorized within the jasper family due to its dense, opaque structure. Its chemical composition includes silicate minerals with iron oxide inclusions. Piemontite is a sorosilicate mineral in the monoclinic crystal system, a system of crystallization characterized by three unequal axes with one oblique intersection. Quartz and jasper are hexagonal. The hexagonal system is a crystal system of atoms in which the unit cell is a right prism on a lozenge-shaped base.
