The Nereid ~ Larimar & Moonstone
Nereids, in Greek mythology, are sea deities depicted as beautiful maidens with long flowing hair, often adorned with sea-themed accessories like shells and seaweed. They are generally portrayed as kind and helpful, embodying the nurturing and calming aspects of the sea and as benign toward humanity. The Nereids inhabited both saltwater and freshwater. The third-largest moon of Neptune is named after the Nereid.
Larimar is said to enlighten and heal in a physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual way. It stimulates the heart, throat, third eye, and crown chakras, facilitating inner wisdom and outer manifestation. It represents peace and clarity, radiating healing and love energy. Larimar is the embodiment of the tranquil water, fire, and sky energies.
Moonstone energy is of new beginnings, enhances intuition, and helps with shielding the mind and heart during spiritual journeys, providing deeper insight by bypassing the known. Its soothing glow is said to calm and balance emotions, especially during times of stress or instability.
I created this one for one who is working with the water element, emotions, dreams and nightmares, and the primordial oceans that cover the earth, to find peace with the primeval that lurks in every part of the human body and brain and create from here, as it is limitless, formless, unborn, and unconditioned. It is here in water that one feels the experience of being human and divine.

Moonstone crystal structure is Monoclinic.
In the monoclinic system, the crystal is described by vectors of unequal lengths, as in the orthorhombic system. They form a rectangular prism with a parallelogram as its base. Larimar Crystal System is Triclinic ~ Atoms forms three axes, all of them are unequal in length, none of them are right angles to each other. Its shape is three dimensional like a cube, but it has been skewed or inclined to one side making it oblique. All crystal faces are parallel to each other.
Larimar is a blue variety of the mineral Pectolite.Pectolite is not a rare mineral and is found throughout the world, however the exquisite sea-blue colour exhibited in the Larimar variety is incredibly unique, and only comes from one place in the world - the Dominican Republic, and is virtually the only gemstone to be found in the entire Caribbean.
Its gorgeous sea-blue colour is reminiscent of the Caribbean seas.
